Hi All,
Hot off the press, and just to let all Clubs & everyone know, where we exactly stand on this, for Round 5 and beyond , as one of the many delicate issues we have to deal with in our passionate Footy world we live & breathe in:
We have negotiated an agreement with the Wide Bay Football Umpires Association at their Sunday 27th Meeting that:
(1) Low volume general swearing can be accepted.
Higher volume (as heard by a few players or spectators) is unacceptable.
Order of penalties is: Free kick
50m
Yellow card
(2) Abuse of umpires in any form is unacceptable. ZERO TOLERANCE.
Penalties are:
Low level – 50m
High level – yellow or red card
All Umpires are now bound and committed to/by this agreement.
Its now up to all Clubs to inform their Committees, Coaching staff all Grades,
and in turn inform all players and match day officials.
Ignorance will be no excuse!
These penalties will cost games if enforced.
So lets "zip the lip" and play good footy!
and on a more POSITIVE note.........
imagine spending nearly 40 years of your life Umpiring "you lot" , and finally being accredited with our Level 2 Umpiring Cerificate, after being retired for a number of years?
Well CONGRATULATIONS Rolly McDowell! Life Member of the WBFUA and now fully accredited leve 2 Coach! (see attachment below)
The ironies of life sometimes.........................
cheers,
Bob Fordham
