The North Mackay Saints have joined a number of AFL Mackay clubs in gaining their Club Assistance Fund from AFL Queensland, due to their huge efforts in running their NAB AFL Auskick program.
With nearly thirty participants enjoying learning the skills of Aussie Rules at Zeolla Park every Wednesday afternoon, the North Mackay Saints are seeing the benefits of running their own NAB AFL Auskick program at the club.
In February 2016, AFL Queensland launched their club assistance fund, to assist community clubs who ran a NAB AFL Auskick program at their club with an opportunity to receive a voucher to better resource the club program's.
To receive the vouchers, each club needs to reach a certain key criteria benchmark based around participation, transition and female participation.
AFL Queensland Regional Manager in Mackay, Jeff Neumann was very pleased to hand on the voucher to the North Mackay Saints for all their efforts this year.
“North Mackay Saints have really got behind the NAB AFL Auskick program this year,” AFL Queensland’s Jeff Neumann said.
“Club Coordinator, Peter Morris has been outstanding in helping assist the program while also transitioning a number of participants into the clubs U8 and U10 teams which is pleasing result from the program.
“This voucher now will be another bonus which will only benefit the NAB AFL Auskickers” Regional Manager Neumann said.
"The vouchers can be used to better resource the clubs program with new equipment, to give everyone a bigger and better experience, each and every time.
"We (AFL Queensland) have made quite a few presentations to other AFL Mackay Junior clubs, our new initiative has been a massive hit," Neumann added.
NAB AFL Auskick is a key introductory participation program, run right across the Mackay region. To find your nearest centre, go to www.aflauskick.com.au.
