The Eastern Swans and Mackay Magpies have soared to victory in Round 1 of the AFL Mackay Premier Women's competition over the weekend.
Reigning Premiers Magpies showed no mercy as the black and white flocked to Etwell Park and came away with an impressive 18-goal victory. Zoe Clark was the main destroyer for the Magpies booting 4-majors while claiming best on ground honours judged by the Magpie coaching staff.
Captain Adriana Smith and Lisa Millard ran riot as the midfield duo played impressive first up rounds.
However, the scoreboard did not reflect the game at hand as the Bakers Creek in their first official outing were impressive and in particular Leah Deveraux.
Deveraux created headaches all afternoon for the Magpies and she was well supported by fellow Tigresses Nadine Tass and Ebony Rix.
Final Score
Mackay Magpies 17.9 (109) def. 0.0 (0) Bakers Creek

Eastern Swans claimed the premiership points over an understrength Moranbah outfit at Rogers Oval in the second Premier Women's fixture of the opening round.
Jessica Healy was by far best on ground, slotting home 7-majors for the Swans in a dominate display up forward. Katrina Smith of Moranbah booted the only Bulldogs goal for the morning early in the fourth term.
Final Score
Eastern Swans 13.8 (86) def. 1.0 (6) Moranbah Bulldogs
