AFL Mackay have inducted their 20th life member at the 2016 Grand-Final day at Harrup Park Country Club.
Mr. Ian Draper, has been inducted as the 20th life member for AFL Mackay after 10 years of second to none service to Australian Football in the region. A long time field and goal umpire, who has held board positions such as Treasurer, Director, Tribunal member.
Ian re-wrote such policies and procedure documents; such as five year draw plan, wet weather policy, rules and regulartions and also worked closely with AFL Queensland to develop the new affiliate league consititution.
Summary of Achievements;
• First volunteered in 2006, assisting with Umpiring, officiating both as a field and goal umpire.
• Held AFL Mackay Executive director positions in seasons 2007, 2008 & 2009
• AFL Mackay Treasurer across seasons 2011 to 2015
• Played key roles in securing the NEAFL matches on Anzac day 2013 to 2015
• Independent Tribunal Member 2015 and 2016
• Assisted in the re-development of the AFL Mackay and affiliate clubs, new constitution for governance and compliance
• Re-developed/created new policies and procedures including a five year draw plan, wet weather policy, Pre-Season carnival rules and regulations, plus numerous new procedure and governance documents for the AFL Mackay Umpires, pre-season conferences and re-created end of season presentations.
• Collated newspaper articles for archives from 2006-2016 for the Annual General Report.
