The Bakers Creek Tigers clashed with Magpies in what proved to be an action packed game at the weekend.
The Tigers edged out Magpies by six points, securing the victory 63-57 and giving them a boost moving into their next game.
Tiger's coach Ash Ryan shared his thoughts on the game and what it means for his side.
"It was a physically demanding game for us and for the most part it was fairly even across the board," he said.
"We were missing some of our main players although Matthew Hol, Josh Rubira and Shaun Creeley were players who really stood up for us when the game was there to be won."
Ryan believes Saturday's light rain was a blessing in disguise for his side during the game.
"It helped us and played into our strengths in my opinion," he said.
"So many of our players dug deep as a result of this situation."
The Tigers' outfit featured two McDonald Mackay Meteors players. Tj Diop and Chris Cedar hit the field.
"They both seemed to love it," Ryan said.
"Obviously they have their Meteors commitments although we enjoyed seeing them out there."
We wish we could utilise them more moving forward, although this will be difficult."
Ryan and the Tigers will now turn their attention to their next game when they face the Swans.
"The majority of our better players will return for us. In saying that, a lot of the other boys really stepped up.
"The Swans lost their game, so hopefully this will give us the edge."
