An up and coming young star with the Eastern Swans, Braden DeAngelis (pictured) finished third in the AFL Mackay Division 2 Men's vote count with 9 votes and Sunday's vote count capped off a stellar final junior year for the agile midfielder.
DeAngelis was awarded the Trevor McCann Medal by the slimmest of margins, beating fellow Swan Lachlan Bulmer and Sea Eagle Rhys Fuhrmann by 3 votes.
It was neck and neck between eventual winner DeAngelis and Fuhrmann over the opening 11 rounds with Bulmer powering home in the final 6 rounds, with 8 votes but DeAngelis received too many maximum votes for anyone to catch him in the end.
DeAngelis received the maximum votes in Rounds 4, 9 and 15 with Fuhrmann receiving his in Rounds 3 and 4, with Bulmer adding the maximum votes to his tally in Rounds 14 and 18.
