U13's: North Mackay 10.12 (72) def. Mackay City 2.3 (15)
It was a dominate performance by the young Saints who controlled the match from the start to finish and can thank ruck Brooke Laffan who was influential early.
Laffan gave the Saints first use from the taps and her around the ground work ethic was second to none. State representative Brody Morris was also very damaging with numerous runs despite his low disposal efficiency.
Morris, Laffan and Jonte Upton were the key contributors in the Saints win.
For the Hawks, Reece Drake and Bayley Medwell-Everett played really solid games.
Div 2 Men's: North Mackay 7.8 (50) def. Moranbah 4.8 (32)
North Mackay kept their season alive in their Elimination Final against Moranbah, in a low-scoring, flank to flank match.
Michael Scholer bagged three majors as the most damaging player on the field, with fellow Saint Shaun Carter also playing a terrific game. For the Bulldogs Dion Obst was impressive off half-back and midfielder Daniel Pullan also one of the few hard-workers for the defeated side.
Allied Pickford's Cup: North Mackay 14.17 (101) def. Mackay Magpies 5.5 (35)
The North Mackay Saints have marched into the 2015 Preliminary Final after grounding the Magpies by 66 points at Magpies Cricket Ground. The match was expected to be tight, as both teams have gone punch for punch this season.
However, the Saints were far too good for Magpies, with their slick ball movement setting up the victory.
For the winners Brendan Cowcher worked hard all day around the stoppages and veteran David Edwards booted 6 majors in a dominate small forward role. James Gallagher also played a superb support role bagging four of his own.
For the defeated Magpies, Captain Jaebyn Drefke lifted to the finals intensity as did Nicholas Thiele. However in their first ever final, quite a few Magpies were caught up in the occasion.
Saints now meet rivals Hawks in the Preliminary Final at 3:45pm on Saturday at Harrup Park.
