The Bakers Creek Tigresses have upset the North Mackay Saints at Etwell Park on Saturday afternoon.
In a game many predicted the Saints to march to victory, the Tigresses roared at home finishing their maiden season on a high with their third win of the year.
Bakers Creek 2.2 (14) def. North Mackay 2.1 (13).
The wide open spaces of Etwell Park suited the Tigresses and were able to narrowly defeat the second placed Saints. Neither club entered details on SportingPulse, goal-kickers and best players can't be named.
In the weekend's other Premier Women's clash the Mackay Magpies have continued their undefeated streak with their 3.9 (27) to 0.0 (0) victory over the Eastern Swans.
However, the Swans showed that the Magpies do have weaknesses and the Swans will be confident ahead of the 2015 finals series.
Jaye Willis was fantastic for the Magpies along with Lisa Millard and Tonia Bradford, though with Captain AJ Smith missing the Magpies lacked her run and carry and powerful kicking.
A surprise move for the Swans, saw star player Alana McNabb play at centre-half forward all day and was fantastic with her leadership and pressure. Young players Rebecca Grummitt, Madeline Johnstone and the representative player Melissa Prior were also key in restricting the Magpies.
Moranbah enjoyed the weekend off.
