North Mackay V Bakers Creek
Sunday 26th July, 1:00pm Zeolla Park
Bakers Creek will be buzzing with confidence after their inspiring Round 14 victory over the Eastern Swans at Harrup Park and even though these two sides may be sitting at near opposite ends of the ladder, this Sunday's clash is shaping up to be a very intriguing battle.
Another loss against the Mackay Magpies last week and going goal-less, the Saints are visibly frustrated by their competition benchmark and will be looking to release on the Tigers this week.
On the other hand, the Tigresses have been slowly chipping away and building momentum slowly. Bakers Creek were impressive against the Swans last Saturday and played an exciting brand of football against last years Grand-Finalists.
North Mackay are ranked third in the competition when it comes to points for and from their 10 matches this season average 34.3 points per game and struggle when inside the forward fifty. The Saints have no player registering in the double digits when it comes to goal-kicking and this is something no doubt Coach Jenkins knows is an area the Saints need to strengthen if they are to be a premiership contender.
Jenna Camilleri averages 1.5 goals a game for the Saints and leads the goal-kicking list for North Mackay but has only played four matches.
Saints duo Allyce Marchetti and Rahnee Vaccaneo have been outstanding all season and will no doubt feature heavily come vote count night. The dangerous duo will be key in this encounter as will the likes of Jenna Godfrey, Lesley MacAlpine, Fiona Forrest and Miya Scott.
For Bakers Creek, their maiden season can already be called a success with two outstanding wins but the Tigresses aren't done yet.
With wins against Moranbah and now the Easter Swans, the North Mackay Saints are no doubt next on their list and North Mackay will need to show their rookie opponents the utmost respect.
Shannon Willett has been superb in her debut season add to the class of Willett, the likes of young star Leah Deveraux, Tyeller Masso, Kathleen Tatton, Ebony Rix and co, the Tigresses are building or as the club quotes, "on the prowl".
With the game a stand-a-lone match on Sunday afternoon, it is a game not to miss and watch two quality sides go head to head for Round 15 premiership points.
Moranbah V Mackay Magpies
Saturday 25th July, 11:10am Stevenson Park
Moranbah will be aiming at mission impossible when they face the juggernaut that is the Mackay Magpies. The Magpies road-show rolls into Moranbah and this match looks to be on paper and history, a one sided encounter.
So will the Bulldogs go into this match with damage control on their mind or will they look to unleash and take the Magpies on with their own style of attacking footy?
It will be a difficult task considering representative player Jennifer Revell will be missing due to holidays and the Magpies look to be taking a full side on the road trip. The likes of Captain Adriana (Smith), Laura Kimlin, Lisa Millard, Tina Hancock, Teah Mealy, Jaye Willis, Rachel Mortimer, the list goes on.
Alisha Matsen will be one of the key Bulldogs, the explosive midfielder is lightning quick and loves the contested situation. Matsen versus Smith (Magpies) may be an impressive match up and would be a great head to head battle.
Add to the class of Matsen the likes of Jennifer Goostrey, Amanda Rose, Jessica Taylor and the Bulldogs have quite a few high impact players.
An interesting game with the Magpies looking for their 17th straight victory since Round 1, 2014, can the Bulldogs cause the biggest ever upset in the AFL Mackay Women's history?
