AFL Mackay Umpires have continued their impressive 2015 season, with several Umpires selected for representative duty.
Up and coming field umpires Ryan Villalba and Matthew Stewart will be head to Airlie Beach to officiate at the North Queensland Under 14 Academy Championships from June 5 - 7.
Another group of Umpires have been chosen to officiate on Saturday 6th June for the Senior Tri-Series at Harrup Park beginning at 2:00pm. Umpires Alex Finney, Jack Booth, Travis Mumford, Steve Quarrell, Matt Saunders, Dempsey Rodden, Andrew Kelly, David Bullock, Alec Caley, Kyle Hoani-Vincent, Jessica Finney and Adam Shields will be flying the Mackay flag for the Mackay versus Townsville versus Rockhampton men's and women's matches.
Regional Manager Jeff Neumann said it was great reward for the umpires selected for the representative matches and shows the Umpire ranks are strong in the region.
"To have 14 umpires appointed to represent the region at the next level is great for the region," Regional Manager Jeff Neumann said.
"It shows, that it does not matter if you are a player or umpire or even coach, that their is a pathway for you."
"Umpiring is the best seat in the house and AFL Mackay are always looking for more boys, girls, men and women to join the local ranks," Neumann added.
AFL Mackay Umpires train every Monday evening at Harrup Park main oval from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
