The AFL Mackay Premier Women's competition will head-line at Harrup Park this Saturday 30th May as the North Mackay Saints go head to head with the Moranbah Bulldogs.
So far, in season 2015 these two sides have met twice with the Saints claiming the premiership points in both encounters.
However, the Bulldogs are on the move and should be quietly confident going into this match. In their last match against the Saints, Moranbah were run off their feet in the final term and North Mackay stormed home with 6-majors to 1.
Results in 2015, head to head
Round 3 - Moranbah 1.1 (7) def. by North Mackay 15.4 (94) @ Stevenson Park
Round 6 - North Mackay 12.6 (78) def. Moranbah 7.2 (44) @ Zeolla Park
The last time the Bulldogs defeated the Saints was in Round 9 last season, in a low scoring affair. Moranbah ran out 12 point winners, 3.5 (23) to 1.5 (11) at Zeolla Park. Moranbah have proven to look the wide open spaces and playing at Harrup Park will suit their game style.
Moranbah will need to be mindful of Jenna Camilleri who snagged 6-majors in Round 6 and Bulldog Alisha Matsen may just be the perfect match up for Camilleri, Matsens offensive run her greatest weapon.
North Mackay are coming off a heavy defeat to the ladder leaders Mackay Magpies last week and by all reports will be without some regular stars.
This may just be the Bulldogs chance to reignite their season and stay in touch with the competitions top 4.
In the weekend's other match the Bakers Creek Tigresses will face the daunting task of the Mackay Magpies at Etwell Park in the curtain raiser to the Allied Pickford's Cup Division 1 Bakers Creek, Magpies men's match.
