The Eastern Swans have claimed the 2015 Pre-Season Challenge for the men's division after claiming the Pre-Season Shield with a comfortable win over Mackay City Hawks in the final.
It was an action packed day at Whitsunday AFC with 500+ footy fans packing the sports complex to get a glimpse of what the Division 1 men's side has to offer.
The Swans had a relatively easy day out with an average winning margin of 41 points across their 4-games which included the 9.2 (56) to 1.0 (6) win over the Hawks. Regional Manager Jeff Neumann said it was a terrific day for all involved and the carnival is a very unique concept for Queensland.
"What a fantastic day for the region, a great carnival atmosphere and well done to the Whitsunday Sea Eagles on hosting a terrific Pre-Season Challenge," Regional Manager Neumann said.
"To have teams spread across three different development regions, is a very unique concept for Queensland and one of the very pre-season carnivals up and running in the country.
"Eastern Swans were a very slick out-fit on the day and well coached by Brad McLaren but overall it is pre-season and no doubt all clubs from the day benefited from the hit-out," Neumann added.
