TIGRESSES SET TO ROAR AT BAKERS CREEK IN 2015!
Bakers Creek AFC President Ben Faulkner released the following statement today:
"Female participation in AFL is one of the fastest growing sports in Australia & it is with great pleasure to announce that in 2015 Bakers Creek AFC will have a team in the AFL Mackay Women's League, known as the TIGRESSES!"
“At the recent AGM a Female Football Committee was formed, and the enthusiasm and energy displayed from this group definitely has the ball rolling in a positive direction.”
“Bakers Creek AFC has formed a relationship with the South Sea Island and Indigenous population of Mackay, and the girls that have put there hand up to give AFL ago, are currently actively involved with designing the playing jumper, to include the history of the football club plus their culture and heritage.”
“The Tigers and Tigresses will be having a Meet & Greet day on Sunday 18 January 2015, and we invite anyone that is interested in being involved as a coach, player, sponsor or supporter.”
“Training will commence in early February, but in the mean time join us on Facebook to keep up to date with all the exciting developments to do with the Bakers Creek Tigresses!"
