UMPIRE TRAINING – 2012
We had a fantastic roll up to the Umpire Training Clinic at Harrup Park today with over 30 umpires taking part.
A big thank you to Simon Devine from Brisbane, who provided a comprehensive development course in junior, youth and senior umpiring.
I’m sure all those who attended got something worthwhile from the day.
Also, thanks to the Crows players who also came out and learnt about the art of umpiring. It will be great to see these guys umpire a few games this year and help out the umpire ranks. Player development doesn’t just stop at learning how to play the game –an understanding of how umpiring works is an important part of growing and learning about football. I’m sure these guys will be much better off in the future by taking part in the clinic. (Also, thanks to Penguin for his continued support of umpiring in Mackay).
Training is on again at Harrup Park tomorrow night at 5:30pm. We will be there no matter what the weather is like – but if you can’t make it due to the weather conditions that’s understandable. (Safety comes first).
Lance will have Law Books and DVDs to hand out on Monday.
Bring along your bank details to training if you haven’t done so yet – or just e-mail them to Ian Draper at ian.draper@optusnet.com.au
You need to forward:
- Bank name and branch
- BSB number
- Account number
- Account name
Remember, if you actively participate in training, you will be paid for it on top of your match payments!
If you haven’t brought back your old umpire shirt from last year, please do so this week. We are getting new logos put on them. You will get them back as soon as possible. We would like this all done before the season starts.
