THE North Mackay Saints defender loves the game so much that the opportunity to teach it to young Mackay students was too good to refuse.
Jackson, 16, will become AFL Mackay's first school-based trainee when he begins Year 12 next year.
“I'm really looking forward to it (the traineeship),” Jackson said.
“I'll be going around to the schools and clubs to help teach Auskick programs to younger kids in Mackay.
“I've always been interested in sport development and at the end of this traineeship I'll have a certificate two in sport and recreation.
“I'd really like to do something more in sport development in the future and this is the first step towards that, which is good.”
Jackson returned recently from Townsville, where he was involved in an invitational tournament.
