2010 has been a terrific year for AFL in Mackay, and the efforts of our hard-working volunteers has been acknowledged by AFLQ and exposed to the QLD football fraternity.
AFL Mackay is extremely proud and fortunate to have a strong volunteer support base, with the shared goal of developing AFL within the region from grass-roots level to senior football and beyond.
The following people have being recognised for their efforts during 2010:
· Jamie Furhmann and the team at the Whitsundays were named the National AFL Auskick Centre of the Year.
· Grant Brockley (Proserpine State High) announced as AFL QLD Ambassador of the Year.
· Col Johnson (AFL Mackay Junior President) commended for his efforts and announced as AFL Volunteer of the Year for 2010.
Peter Sharp was recognized for his efforts at Glenden State School and was named Auskick Coordinator of the Year for the Mackay region.
Joey Fenech was recently named AFLQ Umpiring Coach of the Year for 2010 at the recent AFLQ Affiliates Conference held in Brisbane.
C Congratulations to all award recipients and all volunteers throughout the Mackay and the Whitsundays region. You are a credit to AFL Mackay and AFL football in QLD.
