Mackay’s Crows Under 16 representative team is finalized with a 23 man squad playing 6 games at Rockhampton Cricket Ground, Rockhampton this weekend from Friday 23th April through to Sunday 25th April.
The final squad traveling away to Rockhampton was finalized, Sunday the 11th of April after the trial game against Townsville in Airlie Beach. Fortunately the squad had plenty of depth with 42 players to pick from after a solid training program that commenced 12 weeks ago. This talented group of players sets this region up for a very exciting future.
AFL Queensland Regional Manager for the Mackay region, David Harding, is extremely confident the squad will give a very good account of themselves. The playing group have been fantastic on the track and really need to reward their hard work. Liam Wade has been appointed Captain and his Vice Captains will be Tyler Jones and Nabako Stow
“. The chance to play at the AFLQ Country Championships is the highest level of football that most of these boys will have played, but I have no doubt they will be more than competitive” comments David Harding.
There are seven teams across country Queensland participating all the way from the top end at Cape York through to Darling Downs. At the conclusion of the championships late Sunday afternoon, there will be a 23 man squad announced to represent the Country Kookaburra’s participating in the State Championships in early May.
