The Mackay City Hawks and Whitsunday Sea Eagles have backed up their Under 13 teams and dominated in the Under 15 Mackay Isuzu UTE Shield matches against their respective opponents.
Both sides had impressive wins but it was the Sea Eagles who had the most emphatic defeating the top of the table North Mackay Saints by 56-points in Airlie Beach. In Mackay at Harrup Park it was the Hawks who soared to an outstanding 83 point win at home.
In the Hawks versus Swans show-down, Mackay City had 12 individual goal kickers including an outstanding individual haul by Wayne Rogers who booted 4 to take his season tally to 14. Isaac Lange and Jake Stanley were also multiple goal-scorers booting 3 and 2 respectively.
Central Queensland representative Mitch Healey led the way for Whitsunday in their match against ladder leaders North Mackay.
Healey was prolific and well supported by Jayden Clark and Lachlan Spinner. Ben Cornish was superb in just his second game of the season kicking 4-majors to lead the Sea Eagles offensive group.
Full results including best players and goal kickers were not submitted by North Mackay and the Eastern Swans. Mackay City did not submit best players either.
With North Mackay losing and Mackay City recording the four premiership points, the Hawks go level on points with the Saints, however North Mackay's superior percentage has the beaconsfield club still in top spot. The Sea Eagles have made a two game gap with their win over the Saints.
