NBL1 Eagles sign U.S Recruit Luke Doyle for 2020

Diamond Valley Basketball Association is excited to announce that U.S recruit Luke Doyle has signed with the NBL1 Eagles for 2020!

The 6-5 Guard was a 2013 graduate of Hagerty High School in Oviedo, Florida, where he was a four-year starter and helped lead the Huskies to 88 wins over the course of his career. Scoring 1135 career points he helped lead Hagerty to the 2013 8A State one year after finishing as runner up and averaged 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists as a senior.

In his 2015-16 season at Stetson University Doyle set a school record by making 72 three-pointers, breaking the previous record of 70 set in 1990-91. He moved into the starting line-up just one year after serving as Stetson’s sixth man, and he was the only Hatter to start all 32 games. As a Junior Luke broke his own school record by making 76 3-pointers and ranked seventh in the ASUN in 3-pointers made. He reached double figures in scoring 16 times and scored 21 points three separate times.

With an impressive High School and Collegiate career behind him, Luke will be looking to make a huge impact in the Australian League this season. Head Coach Grant Wallace is eager to have Luke on board this year;

“In 2019 I was greatly impressed by this combo scoring guard from Stetson University. He’s the all-time leading three-point scorer at Stetson and someone I was keen to have on board for 2020, not to mention he and Logan have been best friends since high school. The Logan and Luke pairing seems a perfect match for us on and off the floor.  Luke will make Logan better and vice a versa.  Luke will also provide us a consistent perimeter option, whilst being able to defend one through four!”
