YEPPOON SWANS VS BITS SAINTS @ STENLAKE PARK SATURDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER 2009, 3.00PM
This weekend sees the BITS Saints square off with the Yeppoon Swans in the main game for the year. The game in which every player in any competition across the country no matter what standard, wants to be a part off. The quest for the holy grail of sport and for some at the end the chance to lift that elusive premiership cup high. Both teams have work hard to get here this week and to earn their chance to play in the grand final.

After their win against Glenmore and Panthers will bring a lot of confidence with them into the Grand Final at stenlake Park.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Yeppoon: The players to watch in this match for Yeppoon are those
players capable of running the ball from half back for the Swans as well as being able to win the hard ball. Look to see Wallin, the Watkins boys and Nichols win the hardball and feed two of the best forwards in the league Hawke and the young high flier Higgins league. Both were in fine form against the Panthers in the second semi and will have to be well held by the Saints defence.
BITS Saints: For BITS the players who will catch your eye are a mix of old and new names. Boase will be vital to the Saints cause as his run and ability to kick match winning goals will need to be at its best this weekend. Dickenson and Caveny will work the contested contest and will look to use players like Boase and Bywaters to provide the spark they need as they move the
ball into their forward line. Against the Panthers both Shipard and Hall created problems and they will need to do so again with help from youngsters Mills and Hunt if they are going to be a threat in this match.
MATCH PREDICTION
Form is a funny thing, a string ofwins can be undone by just one loss and a patch of poor form can be turned
around with a big win. That is how this weekend’s game sits. Yeppoon’s losses to
Panthers will be a distant memory this weekend the only thing standing in the way for the Swans are 22 Bits Saints players, nerves and lack of finals experience could hurt if it gets down to the wire as well. In saying that Bits will have been coached
smartly by Dan Coxen over the week and he will have managed his players knowing the
importance of this week’s match. Will the older heads of Bits get them through on the weekend time will tell. It will need big games from the Shipard boys and crowd favourite Lucas Hall who has been a find this year up forward for the Saints
Prediction for the match is that
the Swans running game and youth will look to run the saints ragged, while the saints experienced finals campaigners will look to use silky smooth skills to maintain possession of the ball. If its hot look to see a tight contest till three quarter time then watch on as the swans come home as if the sea breeze is pushing them home. Sorry Saints fans Yeppoon by four goals in what should be a cracker of a game.
