This weekend sees the teams playing each other for the second time this season. A lot has changed since the opening round and the results could well be different this time around.
In the first clash this weekend BITS is at home to YEPPOON. When the sides met in the Grand Final rematch earlier in the year the Swans were too strong and got home by 46 points. They have proven that they will definitely be the team to beat again this year, going undefeated so far. BITS are coming off a great win against the Muddies last week.
With the home ground advantage BITS will be looking to put together a better performance this time around. With a relatively young side it has been the players with not too much senior experience leading the way so far for the Saints. Mills, Hunt and Clarke - all players who represented Capricornia in the U/18 championships earlier in the year have consistently been in their best players.
The next game has BROTHERS taking on GLADSTONE. In their last meeting the Muddies were too strong at home and despite a fight back by Brothers late in the game the Muddies were able to hold on for a good win. However, it is a lot different this time around with Brothers boosted by a couple of new players as well as the return of Steve Smithwick who was considering hanging up the boots this year. Gladstone are struggling with injury, currently having 9 on the sidelines, including vice-captain Nick Stanley.
Whilst the Muddies have been travelling alright in recent weeks, the Brothers continue to go from strength to strength. They have won their past 3 in a row and will be looking to continue their winning run again.
In the last game of the weekend GLENMORE are at home to PANTHERS. Their first game was played under lights at the Rockhampton Cricket Ground and Glenmore were victorious by 14 points. Since then the Panthers have struggled, unable to record a win so far this year. The Bulls are not going that much better and have lost their past three after winning the first two games of the season.
Panthers will be desperate to get their first win of the year and will definitely push the Bulls all the way this weekend.
