Round three of the Trend Interiors Carpet Court AFL Capricornia premiership season gets underway this weekend with three very interesting games to preview.
The Port Curtis region will host two games this round with BITS playing their first game at home for the year against Glenmore. The Saints were shock round 2 losers to Yeppoon and will be keen to bounce back strongly against the Bulls who were much improved in their 99 point victory over Brothers in the local derby in Rockhampton. Expect a tight contest.
At Clinton Park Gladstone and Brothers will be going all out for their first wins of the season to kick start their 2007 campaigns. The much improved Muddies have been very competitive over the first two rounds but their inability to play four quarters has cost them in both games. The Roos showed plenty of improvement on their round one hit out and will be aiming to travel strongly to tackle the Mudcrabs. This one could go either way.
The Panthers play their first home game for the year hosting the Swans at the Rockhampton Cricket Ground. Both sides are unbeaten at this early stage of the season and will be keen to maintain their early season form. The Swans fresh form a moral boosting win over the Saints will be hoping to maintain their recent winning streak over the Panthers who had a tough round two win over the Muddies. This will be a good contest. Seniors start at 2.30pm with Reserves starting at 12.30pm. The Paul Archer The Good Guys AFL Capricornia Juniors kick off at 8.45am.
