The Yeppoon Swans have capped off a memorable year by dismantling an unenthused BITS Saints outfit at Stenlake Park. The Swans brought their A game being able to torment the Saints around the packs and win the crucial hardball. The game was over at quarter time with the Swannies kicking 6 unanswered goals thanks to the brilliance of Tim Higgins and captain Wes Hawke up forward.
The Saints would have hoped to have brought out a much more physical display in the second term but it was nowhere to be seen and the supporters who travelled up were starting to feel the pinch as the Swans took an unassailable lead into the main break.
From here the Swans never looked back as they piled on the goals and the flood gates opened as they took home their first flag in many years by a crunching 73 points in front of a packed Stenlake Park.
Best players for the Swans were Best on Ground Matt Wallin, Tim Higgins, Trevor Robertson, Cameron Watkin and Charlie Querro. While Simon Price and Wes Hawke proved potent up forward kicking 6 and 4 respectively. While for the Saints Jacob Mills, Paul Caveny, Adam Dickenson, Seb Rigney and Lucas Hall all tried hard in a losing cause.
The end result reading Yeppoon Swans 18.12.120 defeating BITS Saints 6.11.47.
