BITS VS GLENMORE
The result is no surprise but the narrow margin is. BITS jumped out of the blocks in the 1st quarter and held a 4 goal lead at quarter time, many would have been thinking that BITS were well on their way to a big win. This was not the case, Glenmore rallied in the 2nd quarter outscoring the Saints 3 goals to 2, and had themselves still in the contest at half time.
After the main break the Saints jumped out with the momentum again kicking a further 5 goals to go into the last holding a comfortable 6 goal lead. Poor kicking at goal in the 3rd let Glenmore down and if they had of converted more of their chances the Saints might have been nervous going into the last.
The last was an entertaining contest with Glenmore refusing to lie down, once again outscoring the Saints 5 goals to 3. When the final siren sounded it was the Saints comfortably, however the scoreboard showed the Glenmore had their chances.
Prediction: BITS by 53 points
Result: BITS by 21 points
PANTHERS VS BROTHERS
Brothers jumped out of the blocks, however weren't able to convert their early dominance into goals. On the other hand, Panthers converted a couple of free kicks and went into the first break with a 3 goal lead. The 2nd quarter once again saw Brothers dominating all facets, other than the scoreboard. The Roos were able to convert a few more of their chances and the game was in the balance at half time.
It was the premiership quarter that saw Brothers start to dominate on the scoreboard as well. The coach made a couple of key changes, throwing a couple of the backmen up forward which turned out to be a good move. Matt Pollock took a couple of good marks from which his confidence grew and he finished the game with 5 goals.
The last quarter had Brothers continuing their dominance, cruising away to a comfortable win. For the Brethren John Sleaford and Michael Moore were dominate through the middle, while Panthers were well serviced by Matt Ryan, Sam Carroll and Liam Kronk.
