Nth Rockhampton and TCC were the first to kick off in what was expected to be a tight contest with talent spread evenly amongst the opposing sides. In the opening quarter you could hardly separate the two sides with TCC coming out on top by a solitary point. In the second quarter TCC took control of the game with a four goals compared to nth rocky who tried hard but couldn't put goals on the board. It was TCC by 23 points at the long break. Nth Rockhampton pushed hard in the third kicking two goals to one. In the last quarter spectators were treated to some spirited football from both sides. In the end though it was TCC that came home with the bacon. A highlight of the game was the contest between Ethan Rose and Darcy Payne.
The Second game of the round was between Yeppoon and Emmaus down at Kele Park. Both sides battled hard with reduced numbers on the field due to Yeppoon travelling with reduced numbers. Emmaus looked the goods for the entire game putting Yeppoon under constant pressure on the score board and on the field. Yeppoon were unable to man up on Bug Tom Ross who was dominant for Emmaus while Callum McBernie worked hard for Yeppoon.
The final game of the afternoon was between Mt Morgan and Rockhampton High in the contest to avoid the wooden spoon. Mt Morgan Blasted out of the blocks in the first quarter kicking 4 goals 4 to 1 goal for Rocky High. The Second Quarter was an even affair with neither side kicking a goal. In the final two quarters Mt Morgan kicked another 4 goals and held a desperate Rockhampton high to one point. Mt Morgan enjoyed its first win of the competition.
