This weekends round 15 is the final round of the Trend Interiors Carpet Court AFL Capricornia season and the final weekend of the season could not be set up any better. Winners from last week were the Panthers over the Saints in the match of the round, the Bulls over the Muddies to keep their finals hopes alive and the Swans were too good for the Roos.
In the match of the round at Boyne oval the Panthers withstood a massive challenge from the reigning premiers to hang on for a gutsy 8 goal victory, at Stenlake Park the Bulls put four solid quarters together to run over the 3rd placed muddies and keep their finals destiny in their own hands. In the final game of the weekend the Swans had a confidence boosting win over the Roos ahead of this week's early elimination final against the Bulls.
The Reserve Grade competition is set up for a big final round with three sides the Bulls, Panthers and Swans all locked in a three way battle for the top two spots and a place in the second semi final.
The round 15 match of the week is without question the massive clash between Yeppoon and Glenmore at Swan Park, the winner of this game will move onto the first semi final at Clinton Park and the loser will say good bye to the 2007 season and start preparing for 2008. The Swans will welcome back Wes Hawke from suspension and will be looking to take the momentum out of last weeks big win over Brothers into the clash. The Bulls will be hoping they can get the same output from all of their players as they did last week against the Muddies, the form of their young guns lead by Tim Mackrill will also need to continue to knock the Swans off at home.
In other games the Saints and Muddies continue their rivalry at Clinton Park with the past two meeting between these two being decided by less then a kick, expect another close one! The Saints will need to regroup after last weeks deflating loss to the Panthers and be right on their game against the Muddies. Both sides have enjoyed a victory over each other in 2007 with the winner of this one taking the edge into the finals.
In the final game of the weekend the Panthers host the Roos at the RCG. The Panthers will bee keen to get through this one without any drama's to finish the home and away season undefeated. The Panthers then look forward to a week off before their fianls campaign begins in the second semi final. It has been a long season for the Roo's and they will be looking to finish the season off with a spirited performance against the flag favourites.
