AFL Capricornia Premiership 2013
Round 12 looks to be a cruical weekend of football with only 4 games to go!
Match of the day Yeppoon Swans v Panthers at Swan Park Yeppoon.
Just on three months ago the Yeppoon Swans handed the Rockhampton Panthers a fifty three point thrashing at Swan Park.
Six weeks later Panthers got within seven points of causing the upset of the round when, after leading by 2 points at three quarter time they went down to the Swans by just 5 points.
That results and a much improved Panthers outfit has earned them the match of the day status in round 12 with just 4 rounds to go before the finals.
Yeppoon will be without half forward flankers Daniel Pullan and Leigh Millway due to work commitments and as a result outstanding under 17 player Mitch Bain has been included in the A grade side for the first time.
Panthers have looked a different team in the past couple of weeks with Marcus Britt back in the side adding another reliable avenue to goal and with some excellent performances from ex juniors Steven Munchow, Alex Kneen and Kevin Campbell.
BITS Saints v Gladstone Mudcrabs at Boyne Island Oval
The Port Curtis "Derby" is back on again with hot favourites BITS Saints taking on cross town rival Gladstone Mudcrabs. At their last encounter in round six the Mudcrabs got within 8 points of a huge upset after they booted 5.2 (32) to BITS 2.2 (14) in the last term.
Rockhampton Brothers v Glenmore Bulls at Kele Park
Brothers are winless for the season and will be desperate for a good performance when they take on Glenmore Bulls at Kele Park.
Brothers shocked everyone at the RCG last week when they raced to a 25 point lead over Panthers in the first term only to wilt as the game proceeded and went on to lose the match by 51 points. Glenmore are in third place on the ladder with 24 premiership points to their credit.
Goodluck to all teams this weekend!
