BITS VS YEPPOON
As expected this game was a close contest up until 3/4 quarter time, after which BITS kicked 5 goals to Yeppoon's 3 goals to run away with a comfortable 36 point win. If not for Yeppoon's defensive pressure throughout the game the result could have been very ugly for Yeppoon. John 'The Animal' Beirouti looks like he has picked up from last years form with 3 goals followed by his trademark post goal celebration, while new recruit Adam Rakip kicked 4 goals. Other good performers for BITS were once mudcrab now saint Nick Stanley and saints 'Mr Reliable' Paul Caveny. For Yeppoon it was the young brigade of Daniel Watkin, Matt Wallin, Lee Cossens and Sam Nicholls that tried hard all day.
Prediction: BITS by 37 points
Result: BITS by 36 points
Aerobatic Michael Vivian smothers Matt Wallin's kick.
GLENMORE VS PANTHERS
Well there was certainly 'Payne' inflicted on the Panthers weekend, with Tyson, Darcy and Toby Payne contributing 11 out of the 14 goals for Glenmore. An early prediction is that if you stop the Payne brothers from kicking goals, Glenmore will struggle to kick a winning score. Not wanting to take anything away from the Bulls win, it must be said that from the sideline it does appear that these 2 teams will find it hard to compete with the competitions better sides this year, I know it is only early and the conditions weren't favourable the football still wasn't pretty.
Good performs on the day included Nick, Darcy and Toby Payne for the Bulls, while for the Panthers it was Liam Kronk, Sam Gudgeon and Shannon Roati.
Prediction: Glenmore by 15 points
Result: Glenmore by 39 points
Darcy Payne leaps to spoil the Panthers player.
