AFL legend Robert "Dipper" DiPierdomenico is coming this week as part of the AFL Auskick program. Dipper will be running a "Super Clinic" this coming Friday at the Panthers home ground (Rockhampton Cricket Ground), from 3:30 - 4:30pm. He will also be in attendance at the junior league "Cluster Night" starting at 6pm, which will see the young players registered with all clubs in the league playing under lights.
Dipper began his career with Hawthorn in 1975, yet it was in 1978 when he began to become one of the games best, which included a best-on-ground performance in the 1978 Grand Final. Retiring in 1991, he finished his careeer with 240 games and 130 goals with the Hawks. Dipper won five day and five night premierships as well as the game's highest individual honour, the Brownlow Medal.
This will be a fantastic opportunity for some of the young players in the Capricornia district to meet with Dipper, but also have the chance to learn some new skills from one of the games legends. There will also be be a number of AFLQ staff in attendance to assist with the clinic and help those young players who are involved.
Dipper will also be attending an AFL Capricornia sponsors breakfast on Saturday from 7:30 - 9:30am at Degani in the City Centre Plaza.
