Round three of the Trend Interiors Carpet and Tile Court AFL Capricornia competition consisted of a number of interesting results. Winners from the last week were Panthers over Brothers, Glenmore over Gladstone and BITS Saints over Yeppoon. It was a round for the goal kickers with Dean Woosnam, Adam Kaufman and Wes Hawke all kicking six goals each. Scores over the past couple of weeks indicate that this year will be a very close competition with all teams capable of playing finals football. BITS Saints are the only undefeated team after three rounds followed by Glenmore, Gladstone and Panthers on two wins while Yeppoon and Brothers are yet to register four premiership points.
In other AFL Capricornia news the senior league is busy preparing for the representative game between Capricornia and Bundaberg Wide Bay. The game will be held at Boyne Island Oval on May 3rd at 2.30pm with Capricornia looking to continue its dominance over Bundaberg Wide Bay and register a fourth consecutive win. Coach Alan Watkins believes the team is looking strong and has been training over the last couple of weeks. A Super Rules game for over 35’s will be played as curtain raiser before the senior representative game. This will be one of the highlights of the year with some local legends playing after a number of years retired on the sideline.
