Round seven of the Tend Interiors Carpet Court AFL Capricornia season produced three very lop sided games with BITS, Panthers and Glenmore all recording big wins. Two games especially were expected to be tight affairs but the inability of sides to travel with full strength teams was evident.
The Yeppoon Swans were completely dominated in both grades down at BITS with the Saints recording a massive 25 goal win in the seniors.
At the Rockhampton Cricket Ground the Panthers hosted the Gladstone Mudcarbs in an eagerly awaited top of the table clash. The Panthers completely dominated the match running out 15 goals winners over a disappointing Mudcrab outfit missing half a dozen players from its strongest line up.
In the final game of the weekend the Glenmore Bulls hosted the Roos at Stenlake Park, the Bulls out muscled the Roos by a massive 21 goals to record their first win on home turf for the year.
Winners from the reserve grade competition for round seven were the Saints, Bulls and Panthers.
Previewing this weeks round eight games is a tough round to contemplate the possible winners after the surprise blowouts of round 7.
The Swans host the Panthers at Swan Park in the match of the round, the Swans will be desperate to bounce back from 2 straight big losses to other sides in the top four. The Panthers are still traveling well with a 7 and 0 record for the year although the next fortnight will test the top of the table side with injuries and player availability starting to have an impact on their structure. Expect nothing but a tough close encounter between these two rivals with nothing being left to chance in there pursuit of the four points.
The Roos host the Muddies at Kele Park in a match that could go either way depending on how the boys from Gladstone travel. Player availability and ability to travel for the Muddies last week was non existent and if they don't get close to their best side on the field the hungry young Brothers outfit after their first win for the year could cause a boil over. Could be closer then most will expect.
In the final game of the weekend the Bulls travel down the highway to take on the Saints who hit some form last week end. These two sides played out an entertaining 2 goal game last time they me with the Saints taking the four points on that occasion. The Bulls allways travel well so expect this one to be another close one.
