BITS advanced to the Grand Final with an impressive 26 point win over YEPPOON. Whilst the Swans started the better of the two sides, BITS worked their way into the game and ran over the top of them in the second half.
The Swans raced to a handy 20 point lead in the first quarter, only for BITS to work back and enter quarter time with a three point lead. It was an arm wrestle in the second quarter, neither team managing to establish a big lead, BITS holding a five point lead at the main break.
The game opened up in the third quarter, BITS managing to get some quality football in the middle of the ground. This meant they were able to hit targets up forward, John 'The Animal' Beirouti their main focus. They managed to extend their lead to 16 going into the final quarter, some poor decision making from Yeppoon hurting them badly.
In the final term the young legs of the BITS side proved the difference. They kicked five last quarter goals, Beirouti featuring in a number of them. The crowd got behind him and the celebrations got bigger -cartwheels, high fives to the crowd and sliding along his stomach just a few of them. He ended up with eight for the match with Keith Bilston the best for the winners.
Yeppoon full forward Daniel Watkin kicked an impressive eight goals in a losing side whilst under 17 player Leigh Cossens worked hard all day.
