The first game this weekend between PANTHERS and YEPPOON would have appeared to be a certain victory for the Swans a week ago, however last weekends results have changed this.
The Panthers had a hard fought win down at Gladstone, repeatedly rising to the challenges thrown at them. Led by their more experienced players they secured their first away win for the year and gained a lot of confidence. Yeppoon had an unexpected loss against Glenmore, most people expecting the Swans to win comfortably.
This game now appears to be a danger game for Yeppoon. The Panthers will be up and about after the win last weekend and the Swans now have the pressure on them to not drop two in a row for the first time this year.
BITS and GLADSTONE are up against each other in the next game, both desperate for a win. The team that is defeated in this contest will find themselves out of the top four, if the Muddies lose then they can basically say goodbye to any chance at finals. They have a poor percentage and will be battling with BITS for the fourth position.
The Muddies were dissapointing last weekend, losing to the bottom of the table Panthers, and being undisciplined at times. They will have to be at their best to match it with BITS who will be looking to get back on the winners list after losing a few recently.
The final game of the round between BROTHERS and GLENMORE appears to be another win for Brothers. Whilst Glenmore had a good win last weekend upsetting the Swans, they face a tougher task this weekend. Brothers are the form side of the competition and at home are just about unbeatable.
The game will be won in the midfield and if the Bulls can get enough of the footy out of the centre through the Payne brothers and Aaron Russell they do have a chance, it is just the depth of the Brothers midfield which will cause the troubles.
Brothers lost young player Ryan Spellman to an ankle injury during the week at training which should see him out for at least 6 weeks, only a slight chance to make it back for finals.
