Round 11 saw three matches take place in all three areas of the region with Yeppoon continuing there winning ways against a resilient Brothers outfit by 5 goals at Swan Park. In the second match we saw the BITS Saints defeat the Gladstone Mudcrabs by 4 goals in a very competitive match at Clinton Park. The final match saw Panthers denied a seventh straight win by a resurgent Glenmore Bulls at Stenlake Park as the Bulls got up by 42 points and take back second spot.
Yeppoon Swans 13.15.93 defeated Brothers Roos 9.10.64 @ Swan Park
Yeppoon Swans continued their march towards the minor premiership when they defeated the competitive Brothers Roos outfit at Swan Park by 29 points. Yeppoon looking to keep their breathing space a top the AFL Capricornia ladder set up their win with a brilliant second and final quarter. Going into quarter time trailing Brothers by 13 points the Swans took full advantage of the wind as they kicked 6 goals to 2 in the second quarter to take a comfortable 15 point lead into halftime. With Brothers failing to take full advantage of the wind in the third quarter the Swans managed to hold onto a 9 point lead and then kicked clear in the final quarter kicking 5 goals to Brothers 2 to take out the match 13.15.93 to 9.10.64. Best players for Yeppoon were Yore, Wallin, Blanchard, Mylrea, Querro and Hawke with Bibby, Briggs and Daniel Watkin kicking 3 goals each. Best players for Brothers were Ferguson, Moore (2 goals), Adams, Obah, Colbourne (4 goals) and Davis.
BITS Saints 11.11.77 defeated Gladstone Mudcrabs 6.5.41 @ Clinton Park
This game saw the return of some popular faces for both sides with arguably the biggest rivalry in the league taking place at Clinton Park. The Muddies looking to keep there season alive welcomed back Ricky Windridge from Brisbane as BITS travelled into Gladstone. The game started well with goals flowing at both ends with BITS taking a 4.4 to 3.1 lead into quarter time. With BITS up a resurgent Muddies hit the field in the second quarter keeping the Saints goalless as the Muddies kicked 2 goals and went into halftime with a sniff of victory and a 5 point lead. The third quarter saw BITS continue the trend of the game as they kicked to the goal scoring end and with Lucas Hall up forward shining bright the Saints kicked 3 goals to one to lead at three quarter time. The Muddies went into the break deflated and unfortunately for them could not put together the football they did in the second quarter as BITS ran out comfortable 26 point winners. Key contributors for BITS were Dickenson, Anderson and Hall (5 goals) while for the Muddies Steve and Shane Eilola fought hard in a losing battle. The win sees BITS hold onto fourth spot and looks to have shut the door on Gladstone’s finals aspirations.
Glenmore Bulls 15.8.98 defeated Panthers 8.8.56 @ Stenlake Park
The winner of this match would move into second place on the AFL Capricornia ladder and would look to sure up their position with only 4 rounds remaining. With the Rockhampton Panthers looking to make it seven wins in a row faced a determined Glenmore Bulls at Stenlake Park. Glenmore on the back of a disappointing draw with Brothers took to Panthers early making it clear that they were going to show plenty of prescence around the football. The early proceedings favoured Glenmore as they scored the first 27 points of the match before Panthers answered with two late goals to go into half time trailing by 14 points. With the crowd bellowing loud the Bulls continued their dominance around the park and had it not been for some poor finishing could have gone into half time with a much larger lead. The crowd had plenty to cheer about though and with a Shayne Fowler poster from point blank range after the siren the crowd had a laugh as Glenmore led by 31 points. The third quarter saw a much tighter contest with Panthers being able to drag the lead back to within 3 goals but as soon as the momentum looked to turn the Bulls midfield led by both Toby Payne and Cameron Imrie were able to push the ball forward and when Derek Mangan was able to put his presence on the game the Bulls were able to pull clear and take a 5 goal lead into the final break. In the end the Bulls were able to run away with the match by 42 points as Tyson Payne put the icing on the cake finishing with four goals. Best players for Glenmore were Imrie, Tyson Payne (4 goals), Tickner, Thomson, Toby Payne and Tim Mackrill (2 goals) while Morris, Ryan, Smart, Roati, Clifford and Kronk all battled hard for Panthers.
Reserve Grade
In the Reserves BITS were too strong for an undermanned Gladstone winning by 17 points to keep there undefeated season going at Clinton Park. Out at Yeppoon the Swans kept adding salt to the wounds of the Brothers side with a demanding 82 point win. In the final match of the round Glenmore kept moving in there downward spiral as a spirited Panthers kept their hopes of taking out this years premiership with a well earnt 22 point win away at Stenlake Park

Round 12 Fixtures
Round 12 sees three important matches as BITS travel up the Bruce Highway to meet Brothers with both sides needing a win to keep their seasons alive. Glenmore will meet the Mudcrabs at Clinton Park with Glenmore looking to cement second spot while Yeppoon will meet the only side to defeat them this year as they play Panthers at the Rocky Cricket Grounds.
