Panthers have pulled clear and are on top of the Trend Interiors Carpet and Tile Court AFL Capricornia ladder. It was an impressive display by the Panthers against a gallant BITS Saints side at Boyne Island Oval. It was a close game all the way until the final siren with Panthers winning by 14 points. BITS Saints were only down by 2 points at three quarter time, however they were only able to kick 2 goals in the last quarter to Panthers 4 goals. Damon Stebbings kicked 3 goals for the Saints while Rick McClure was best for the Saints. Barry Stanley and Herbie Anderson kicked 3 goals each while Lyle Clifford and Jamie Warsdorp were best for the Panthers. Yeppoon have shown they will be a team to contend with this year with a dominant display against the Gladstone Mudcrabs. Yeppoon were in control at every brake with Adam Johnson and Simon Price important players in the midfield. Gladstone was never able to make up the 4 goal break against Yeppoon and in the end Yeppoon ended up winners by 46 points. Wes Hawke continued his good form in the forward line with 3 goals while Trent Rapp and Nic Dempster were best for Yeppoon. Mick Keller kicked 4 goals for Gladstone and was well supported with strong performances from Nick Stanley and Reece Sadlier.
Glenmore took on Brothers at Stenlake Park and ended up with a comfortable 81 point win. Brothers matched Glenmore in the first half and were trailing by only 16 points at the Half. Glenmore were able to pull away in the second half kicking 11 goals to Brothers 1 goal. Dean Woosnam was once again a focal point up forward kicking 6 goals for the Bulls while Paul Maloney chipped in with 2 goals for Brothers. Tim Mackrill, Matt Cameron and Nick Hills were best for Glenmore while Tim Moss, Tony Boole and Matt Coleman tried hard for Brothers.
In the Reserves BITS Saints hammered Panthers, Yeppoon beat Gladstone and Glenmore had a comfortable win over Brothers. Next week’s Games:
