The latest chapter in the age-old story of revenge will be played out at Holloways Beach Sporting Complex when Manunda Hawks and Centrals Trinity Beach Bulldogs square off tomorrow afternoon. When the two teams met in last year's AFL Cairns Women's League semi-final, Bulldogs pulled off one of the upsets of the season. The tables will be turned after Bulldogs scored a huge win over South Cairns Cutters and will head in as favourites against a Manunda side humbled by North Cairns in the season opener. Hawks president Fiona Sharp said the team is desperate for revenge for how 2011 ended. "There will definitely be a lot of passion out there," Sharp said. The new season bought questions for both teams, with Centrals Trinity Beach so far showing they had more answers than the Hawks. Both teams brought in new coaches, Sharp, who became interim coach for the second half of last season, insists the team will be better in the long run under newcomer Ken Jackson. "He'll bring a new approach and his own style," she said. "But the Bulldogs are a team on the improve as well. We know we are going to have to play our best." In the lead-up to the Hawks-Bulldogs, North Cairns Tigers will take on South Cairns Cutters.
