Trying to find a weakness in the Port Douglas line up is like counting the freckles on Cameron Lions body- a long arduous process that ultimately leaves you with a migraine.
But that was the task Centrals Trinity Beach coach Mick Seymour faced at training this week while preparing his players for their clash against the crocs at Crathern Park on Saturday.
The Crocs are the only unbeaten team left in the AFL Cairns this season, and has rocketed to the top of the ladder on the back of four percentage-boosting wins.
It is not a secret why the Crocs have been so dominant.
A quick look at the stats column reveals they have the best attack (632 points) in the league and the most misery defence (229).
The Bulldogs sit third on the ladder with only a single loss to their name but Seymour says is about to face one of the competitions benchmarks.
“The first game you play against a club is always important but with teams like Port and Saints being the yardstick the boys get extra pumped for it,” he says.
“Port are the kind of side that can hurt you on the scoreboard.
They can kick big scores, and when you play against them you really have to grab your opportunities by the chance.”
Seymour who welcomes back Cameron Barltlett and Todd Stewart for tomorrow’s encounter, said the players need to win their individual contests.
“We touched on it this week that there are going to be a lot of man-on-man footy,” he said.
“There’s going to be some tough individual battles out there for our blokes with the Shaw brothers and Paul Minchington kicking plenty of goals between them for Port.”
In tomorrow’s other games, the Manunda Hawks travel to Watsons Oval to take on Norths, and Cairns City Cobras host Saints at Holloways Beach.
All matches start at 3pm.
