Jye Bohm who played his junior football at Port Douglas made the move south earlier this year to pursue his football dreams. The 17 year old joined Redlands football club on a scholarship in the Queensland State League competition.
The Lions have a flexible arrangement where they can pull young talented players out of the State League and from country regions to play with their reserves. Jye made an impression at the U18 State Championships in March playing for the Queensland Country Kookaburras and has now been given the opportunity to play with the Brisbane Lions reserves along side Brisbane Lions players. Impressed with Jye's first performance with the Lions he has already been invited back for this weeks clash with Southport.
Jye will also be monitored by Guy McKenna and the GC17 staff and will no doubt be given the opportunity of playing some games with the GC17 in the elite U18 TAC Cup competition as the year unfolds.
