Peninsula Win Country Pool - 9 Make Country team The Peninsula team has taken out the country pool at the U12 Schoolboy State Championships at Maroochydore this week. In a dominant display in very heavy conditions the boys from the Cairns area have gone through the country pool undefeated and will be rewarded with an opportunity to tackle Met North from the City Pool on the final day.
Nine Peninsula boys have been named in the Queensland Country team after solid performances over the 4 days - Branden Deslandes, Rory Shelton, Daniel Davidson, Sam Gall, Michael Selsby, Sam Lindenmayer, Alex Davies, Mamakamai Naiyep and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow. They will play the last game of the Carnival v Met West.

Day one at the under 12 AFL state champs in Maroochydore and Peninsula made a great start to the carnival. Thirteen different goal scorers saw Peninsula kick 18.12.120 to Capricornia 1.2.8. Best Daniel Davidson, Alex Davies, Rory Shelton, Mamakamai Naiyep, Michael Selsby, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow. Day two - Peninsula Under 12 AFL team scored another convincing win this time against the Darling Downs. 9.14.68 to 2.3.15. In wet and windy conditions Peninsula outplayed the opposition all over the ground. Best players Michael Selsby, Branden Deslandes, Jaceb Baldwin, Tom Meadows, Ryan Bourguignon, Karl Petri and Nicholas Johnson. Day three in atrocious wet conditions the Peninsula under 12 AFL team accounted for Northern 5.11.41 to 1.1.7 with Northern only scoring in the last three minutes of the game. Best players Daniel Davidson, Branden Deslandes, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Sam Lindenmayer and Tom West. Goal kickers Alex Davies 2, Branden Deslandes, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Daniel Davidson 1.
Day four and the Far North challenge was a little one sided. The Crusaders never gave up but the Peninsula Under 12 AFL team powered on to remain undefeated in beautiful sunshine but still a heavy track at Maroochydore.
