Charlesworth and Tasmania's Jeromey Webberley were schoolmates together at St Virgils College and have been in contact this week ahead of today's interstate clash.
``I told him I'd cut his mullet off under a pack,'' Charlesworth, 20, said.
``He had a bit of a mullet at school. I think he's got rid of that but I might give it a bit of a tug.''
But Charlesworth is expecting to receive some treatment himself from his former teammates.
``I expect a few little punches underneath the pack but I'll take them on the chin and hopefully they won't do it after the game,'' he said.
``We had a bit of a photo the other day and I was a bit tentative [putting the Queensland jumper on] but once you get it on there that is the state I live in at the moment so that is the state I will be playing for.''
For Webberley, 20, it will be his first taste of representative football, having never been a Mariner or Devil in the past, but coach Mathew Armstrong believes the running half-back has already caught attention.
``There won't be just my eyes on him tomorrow,'' Armstrong said.
``With a [Tasmania-Vic Country] under-18 game before us there are going to be AFL recruiters there. They will be having a real close look at him tomorrow.''
But Webberley was more concentrating on his first state game rather than impressing AFL scouts.
``I haven't heard anything [from AFL clubs] so it is just another game for me,'' Webberley said.
``Obviously there is a huge amount of pride. It is probably a young boy's dream in Tasmania to play for your state and get drafted or if he doesn't get drafted, probably playing for your state is the biggest achievement.''
CHANGING COLOURS: Former Tassie Devil, now Queensland state player, James Charlesworth.
