ST KILDA chief executive Archie Fraser says it is no surprise Ben Cousins has tested drug-free, given his resolve to return to the AFL.
Fraser said the Saints, regarded as the frontrunners for Cousins' services, have been in regular contact with him in the lead-up to the AFL commission meeting that will determine the outcome of Cousins' comeback bid on Tuesday.
Cousins, 30, has passed one hurdle in his bid to be re-registered -- a urine sample recently submitted to the AFL was found to be clear.
Yesterday, new Brisbane coach Michael Voss said the Lions were also interested in talking to Cousins.
Dogs in black
THE Western Bulldogs are poised to announce a profit of more than $600,000 for this year. It completes rare back-to-back seasons in the black for the Dogs, who posted a $534,000 profit last season.
The club received $1.7 million in AFL special assistance, which is guaranteed for next year.
