AFL Tasmania is pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Sanders to the position of Tasmanian State League (TSL) Education and Development Coach.
The appointment reflects AFL Tasmania’s commitment to the long term success of the Wrest Point State League.
It is AFL Tasmania’s strong belief that one of the most critical determinants of the long term viability and success of the Tasmanian State League (TSL) will be its capacity to find high quality coaches. It is clear that the previous era of attracting ex-AFL or interstate playing coaches has passed and we need to better educate, develop and support coaches that are within Tasmania.
This role will provide the AFL Tasmania Football Department with this capacity.
North Hobart President Darryn Perry said;
“We applaud the appointment of Adam Sanders to this position - he has a very good coaching record at Launceston and is a highly respected person in the Tasmanian football system”
Newly appointed North Hobart coach Clinton Brown is a prime example of a motivated coach who will benefit from this appointment.
“We don’t have the resources of an AFL Club, so coaching at TSL level means you are basically performing ten jobs in one. If Adam can assist in this area then it will certainly be a great benefit to me and to the North Hobart Football Club.”
Adam Sanders Bio
Adam comes to the position after coaching the Launceston Football Club over the past 7 years.

His coaching philosophy has a strong emphasis on development of junior players from within, with 16 of the 21 premiership players in 2006 having played U/19’s football with the Launceston Football Club.
