The Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Shooting program includes the
following disciplines:-
All disciplines will be conducted according to the rules of the
International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF). The events will be
contested at three separate venues, with the medal presentations taking
place at the respective competition sites. All venues will be of a high
international quality and it is expected that the Melbourne 2006
Shooting program will attract a record number of competitors.

Clay Target
The Clay Target competition is to be held at the Melbourne Gun Club
in Lilydale and consists of a qualification and a final round.
The score in the final round is added to the competitor's score in
the qualification rounds. The competitor with the most points wins.
Twelve gold medals will be awarded during the eight days of competition.

Pistol
The Pistol events will be held at the Melbourne International
Shooting Club. The competition consists of a qualification and a final
round. The score in the final round is added to the competitor's score
in the qualification rounds. The competitor with the most points wins.
A total of 14 gold medals will be won over the nine days of the Pistol
competition.

Small Bore and Air Rifle
The Small Bore and Air Rifle competition follows the same format as
the Clay Target and Pistol competitions and is to be held at the
Melbourne International Shooting Club. Twelve gold medals will be
contested over eight days of competition.

Full Bore Rifle
The Full Bore Rifle competition does not include any qualifying
rounds. The firing distances for this event are between 300 and 1,000
yards and competitors will shoot once per stage.
Two gold medals will be on offer over the three days of competition
which will be held at the Wellsford Rifle Range in Bendigo.
