WELCOME TO NEW REFEREES

Sport is an Australian way of life. To enjoy sport, we need participants, but more importantly we need guidelines, rules and referees. No-one is born with all the insight, knowledge or eyes in the back of their heads, but they can learn and be trained to become accomplished.

Coffs Harbour Basketball Association would like to welcome Nicole Howarth, Jonathon Mann and Gemma Cahill who have all just received their stripes and commenced their arduous task of blowing their whistle at the McDonald's Friday night competition.

Congratulations are also extended to Gina Thompson, Andrew James, Sarah Bamford and Emma Howarth who have stepped up a level in their refereeing with immense improved judgment since last year.

Naturally it is hoped that coaches, players and spectators will remember that although striped, these referees are still honing their skills and should receive support and co-operation. They are doing the best job they can and do not deserve abuse.

If there are any problems during a game, please see the Referee Supervisor, who can be found in the Supervisors Office. If any referee cannot ref their rostered games, they need to notify the Referee Supervisor or call Sandra Mottram.
