Women's Under 21 to play FIBA qualifying in August

After some excellant performances recently in matches and trials the following players from Auckland were selected in the New Zealand Under 21 team.
Micaela Cocks
Erica Hopkinson
Jessica McCormack
Chelsea Terei
Lisa Wallbutton

Congratulations to Aik Ho who was appointed to the Assistant Coach role for the side.

The team are currently playing in Taiwan at the William Jones Cup Tournament as a build up to the U21 Fiba World Qualifying series against Australia in August.

They won their opening game New Zealand 72-65 Korea WKBL (NZ - Lisa Wallbutton 15p+10rb, Jessica McCormack 13p+8rb) and lost their second game Taiwan NT 79-50 New Zealand U-21. Not a bad effort considering this is Taiwan's National team that qualified to go to this years World Championships.

They play Italy today, followed by Japan on Thursday and will finish the tournament playing Australia on Friday. All games are played at 9pm NZ Time.

Basketball Auckland are very proud of these players and wish them well in these upcoming matches
