Always looking for ways to challenge our players, AFL Victoria will hold the inaugural Youth Girls Champions Trophy on Saturday September 5 at Kensington's JJ Holland Park. The Champions Trophy aims to bring together the premership teams from across all Youth Girls competitions to compete in a day long round robin carnival. Unfortunately with netball finals being played at the same time, the Bendigo (Eaglehawk) and Geelong (Leopold) teams will not be available to compete, however the premiership teams of the four Melbourne based competitions will slug it out to be crowned Victoria's Champion Youth Girls team. This will be the first time that Sunbury (Western), Jacana (Northern), Berwick (South Eastern) and East Malvern (Eastern) will play against one another and so there will be great interest to see how their standard of football compares.
