The Footy Pak South-East Youth Girls have won this year’s AFL Victoria Youth Girls Championship.
The AFL Victoria Youth Girls Championships were first played last year and the players are aged between 13 and 18 years old. Its status has since grown and has been integrated as part of AFL Victoria’s ‘Go for your life’ Metropolitan Junior Championships.
AFL Victoria Female Football Development Manager Chyloe Kurdas said it was fantastic that the best young female footballers were on show during the AFL Victoria Metropolitan Junior Championships.
"It demonstrates how far this competition and football has come in integrating female football, a rapidly growing sector of the game," she said.

And in another first, the side was coached by the mother of a playing daughter.
Narre South’s Riplee McLachlan, 14, was under the tutelage of her mother Kerry this year. Making the win more impressive was that Kerry only took on the coaching reigns at Narre South this year also.
AFL Victoria Female Football Development Manager Chyloe Kurdas said Kerry was a terrific role model for the South-Eastern Youth Girls.
"Having a mother coaching football is a fantastic role model and hopefully, something we will see more of in Youth Girls competitions," Kurdas said.
"Congratulations to Kerry and the South-East Youth Girls on their thoroughly deserved win.
"Kerry’s involvement teaches young people that women can have and do have the knowledge and skills of the game to coach it."
Best on ground in the grand final was awarded to south east speedster Alicia Heins, whilst it was western's up and coming rover, Mandi Watts, who was deemed Player of the Championships by the umpires and coaches.
