Pearcedale Baxter have made amends for the disappointment of last season, winning a thrilling Footy-Pak South-East Youth Girls Grand Final over rival Hallam.
In a closely fought grand final at Cranbourne's Casey Fields, Pearcedale Baxter ran out 2.6-18 to 2.3-15 winners over Hallam, who were previously undefeated.
The game was an arm wrestle throughout the first half, with no difference in score at the first and main breaks.
Pearcedale Baxter dominated the third quarter but were unable to convert, missing six shots on goal.
Hallam owned the football in the final term, only to be stopped on the goal line by Pearcedale's height and determination to not fall at the final hurdle.
The final score was indicative of the competitiveness of both teams and was consistent with their earlier matches this year, only the result favoured Pearcedale Baxter for the first time in their three outings.
