The newest additions to the Youth Girls competition added their names to the growing list of girls joining Eaglehawk, Marong and North Bendigo. A mixture of players new to the game and those now too old to continue playing in their junior boys' competitions were put through their paces by AFL Victoria's Female Football Development Manager, Chyloe Kurdas, in a skills clinic. Even the searing heat could not dent their enthusiasm as they got the hang of kicking, marking and hand passing. They are now looking forward to beginning their preseason training with their new clubs, and some have even set their sights on the Victorian under nineteen development team.
