Jo Cox Golden Whistle Umpires Award: Natalie Pace
Nat Pace was awarded the Jo Cox Golden Whistle Award for an outstanding year umpiring in the VWFL. Nat worked hard combining study with umpiring whilst also battling illness and was rewarded for her efforts with a spot as a field umpire in the Premier Reserves Grand Final. The future of umpiring looks very bright.

Debbie Lee Medal Best 1st year player: Lauren Spark - Melbourne Uni
Lauren won the Debbie Lee medal following a stellar first year at any level in the game. Having a big impact in her first year, Lauren kicked 19 goals playing in the ruck and up forward. Lauren who represented Victoria & Australia in Beach Volleyball polled 7 votes in the Helen Lambert Medal and was awarded a place in the AFL Vic, VWFL Academy.

If we ever need a volunteer for anything, we don’t even need to ask Sam as the chances are that she has already rung us to see what we need.

North West Division: Samantha Greene - La Trobe Uni – 42 goals
South East Division: Elana DeSantis – Hallam – 42 goals
Reserves: Rebecca Hickmott – Darebin – 19 goals
Reserves: Lauren Chalkley – Berwick – 19 goals
Premier Division: Amy Catterall – VU St Albans - 39 goals
Kate Lawrence Medal - Best and Fairest
North West Division: Richelle Cranston - North Ballarat
Richelle who won the Kate Lawrence Medal in 2011 playing mainly in the ruck has gone back to back with another outstanding season. Playing at CHF and on the ball in 2012, Richelle polled 21 votes to win by 4 votes from Maddie Goodman of La Trobe Uni. Richelle polled votes in 8 games including 6 x 3 votes. In a purple patch Richelle polled 5 x best on ground votes in a row from Rd 4 to Rd 8.
South East Division: Hannah Scott – Hallam
A premiership medal, best on ground in the Grand Final medal and the Kate Lawrence Medal, Hannah Scott certainly has had a stellar year. Hannah polled 20 votes to win by 1 vote from Kirsty turner of Chirnside Park. Hannah who played on the ball and up forward polled votes in 8 games throughout the home and away season including polling best 5 x 3 votes for best on ground.
Fraser Griffiths Medal - Best and Fairest (Reserves)
Rachel Gullo - VU St Albans
A premiership medal, best on ground in the Grand Final medal and a Fraser Griffiths Medal, Rachel Gullo certainly has had a stellar first year playing our great game. Rachel polled 15 votes to win by 1 vote from Malise Schmolling of Berwick. Rachel who played mainly on the ball polled votes in 7 games throughout the home and away season including 3 x 3 votes
Helen Lambert Medal: Best and Fairest (Premier Div)
Lou Wotton - Eastern Devils
Eastern Devils skipper Lou Wotton had a stellar 2012 polling votes in 9 of the 14 home and away games. Lou started the 2012 season in outstanding fashion polling 10 votes in the first 4 games. Lou who won the medal in 2010 alongside Daisy Pearce polled 5 best on ground votes and finished the season as she started, polling 3 votes in Rd’s 1 & 14.
